GH ch02 / progress part 3 // 33/41 pages

I finally finished this 3rd of 4 folders just now. I am so happy right now: less than 10 pages left, in the last page of script, and 33 pages done. I'm so tired of this chapter that I'm definitely taking a break between this one and chapter 3.

 Also to my lack of knowing, the relatives staying over here are not saying for 3 weeks, but a single month. So far it's been nice to see them. But because of this, I didn't work on pages for almost a week, and I got super rusty due to that. It was then I realized: no way am I letting anything get in the way of finishing this chapter in August.

 When I re-sketched the Liam panel, I imagined a meme caption of "I'M SO HIGH RIGHT NOW". So great.

So, 8 more pages. Can I do it this week? Well, finally my graduation party is happening on Saturday, so I don't think it's gonna happen. Hopefully next week!

I'm so sorry for not updating in the longest time. Super focused on finishing chapter 2 as soon as I can, and feeling incredibly unsocial.

Also forgive me for the lack of screenshots. Not sure why I haven't been taking as many this time around, but whatever. Have I been working on anything else? No, not at all. Quite honestly, I really want to get this chapter done and over with. Considering I've been working on it since thumbnailing for the entirety of May. Let's just say I want to be able to make a chapter within 1-2 months. I am feeling pretty awful taking 3 months now. 

I haven't found a job yet, which might be a testament to this area just not having anything illustration-based. (Looking up job listings of "illustrator" and seeing just web and graphic design has been very discouraging.) I'm going to revamp my commission prices, and hopefully get something out of that. But yeah, starting next year I want to be able to move somewhere else with more illustrative opportunities. And I am really tired of living where I am. Sucking the life out of me, I swear!

BUT YEAH! Chapter 2! Working hard to finish that! Starting the 23rd, I won't be able to work on stuff as much due to family members I never met flying over here, and staying for 3-4 weeks!

CHAPTER 2: SAMURAI GETS BACK TO TWERK, ELECTRIC BOOGALOO

Hey everyone! Sorry for not updating in a while, and missing two more Fridays! I actually had a freelance web design gig that finished last week. So I've been working on getting myself motivated to get back into working on chapter 2.

See the end of this post for the (almost) final ink.

Anyways, after graduating it was super hard to gain the motivation to work hard again. And actually work on my own terms instead of the ultra-rushed schedule that was thesis. It took all of May for me to make the thumbnails. Compare that to taking just a week to do chapter 1's thumbnails. Geez.

 I did start the first page in May, but oh boy - the combo of web design nightmares and wave of laziness is a fearsome one.

I barely touched the pages for roughly half of this month. I can't believe this is the last week of June! I keep telling myself "SAMURAI, YOU NEED TO STEP IT UP," it's awful. 

Handletterin' yo.

So I've been pushing myself as of last week to get out at least a page a day, and setting up a page for the next day. So far so good, I guess. I'm going to shut up and make you look at the other screenshots now.

Basically how I feel about…too many things. Ha!

Don't underestimate patting hands. This took a lot of redraws.

Charlie is such a little bitch with his tiny moe hands.
(Note: "moe-ay" is how you should pronounce that.)

Waving Liam is always the cutest. And of course I moved him away from those bleed guides after this shot was taken.

I plan to make progress posts every 10 pages I do, so look forward to those future posts!
